Hi Friends, As a mom you always wonder if you have done a good job raising your kids. Hey we all make mistakes, and some of us (I wonder who?) work way too much. But, then the call comes..."Hey Mom I bought us tickets to see The Pee Wee Herman Show, can you take a Saturday off?" YES! Ahhhhh there it is the moments you will remember forever! Jordan and I use ...

wedding shoe steve madden
Hi Friends, If you know me you know I have a Shoe Obsession!...I was searching the web and the design houses and asking my brides what shoes they are buying for their wedding day. The pictures below are the most talked about ones. Seems like the colored shoe trend is not as popular. I found out the brides are opting for the white or ecru color palette. What ...

The Chanel shoes are so theatrical, I love the cute “garden romance” feeling they have to them. My sister owns the CdG sneakers! They’re MUCH better looking in person. I like your blog ^_^

    Hi Mindy,
I also have a major thing for shoes! Loving those Chanel ones…

I’m getting married in October. I’m a Scottish girl marrying an Indian.. any tips for creating a fusion of the two on the day? (including my dress) I’m thinking lots of pinks and oranges with a good sprinkling of sparkle… any advice you could give me would be gratefully received! I’m in Scotland so I can’t hire you unfortunately but I will be watching your blog for tips in the coming months!

    Hi Mindy,

Those are so fun! I love fun shoes on a wedding day, it’s a great way to feature your personality with just a small, fun touch.

I was obsessed with finding a pair of Louboutins for my big day in May but have struggled for months – so I downscaled a bit and just this weekend found not one but two really fun pairs at DSW. I wrote about the saga & included photos of both pairs:

By the way – I love your blog and your book – both have been a huge help as I am planning my big day (96 days to go!)

    P.S. I loved Pee Wee’s Playhouse, too! =)

going away
Hi Friends, Hope you are having a nice weekend! Sorry I disappeared for a week but I'm working hard on my new e-store and re-vamping our website. Big Things ahead for the wedding and party world... So I'm loving all the new little WHITE dresses popping up in all the wedding design houses. Amsale, Oscar de la Renta, so many wonderful designers! I'm finding t...

Mindy I couldn’t agree with you more! I love the idea of a “going away outfit” and adore when I see modern brides doing it. I wanted that Stephanie James Couture suit oh-so-bad for my get away outfit!! Wish I could have done that.

I love the ol fashioned “Going Away Outfit.” It was the way all the guests got to say goodbye and good luck to the new Mr. and Mrs. I had a beautiful turquoise linen suit made for my “Going Away” outfit. Except I partied till the end and never got to wear it!

LOVE this! I definitely am a fan of the fun exits! Let’s bring it back!! :)

Completely agree with you Mindy! My wife wore a “going away outfit” for our wedding and it was such a timeless moment to be sent off in that fashion. I’m with you… let’s bring that tradition back as it’s long overdue. :)

[…] It is more likely to be my ‘going away’ outfit. No, I don’t really care if people still have going away outfits or not. It is definitely a tradition that should be brought back. […]

Hi Mindy, I could not agree more ! I remember when my sister got married purchasing the “going away outfit” was very exciting and a big thing. I would love to see it return. I know that receptions go late into the night and indeed there are more “after parties” also, but traditionally the bride and groom were not the last to leave ! You left in your beautiful new outfits to spend your first night together as man and wife……it’s wonderfully romantic ! Let’s beat the drums for a return ! Thanks for this post !

golden globe sandra
Hi Friends, Watching the Golden Globes and loving the colors I saw on the beautiful actresses... This helps make trends for our weddings in fashion and accessories. I loved the color purple on Sandra Bullock! I loved the soft pink of Emily Blunt. Fergie wore a gorgeous lavender chiffon gown beaded at the waist. I saw a theme of colors where most of the woman...

heart sparklers
Hi Friends! Received these darling Sparklers and had to share! Not only are these perfect for a Valentines Wedding to light "after" the ceremony but, why not instead of regular sparklers for July 4th parties, or any wedding anytime of the year. Cute for a presentation of a cake or cupcakes. Great for a picture of the new engaged couple for the front of a...
