Lounges! I love the lounges!!!! And Lounges are one of the hottest trends in weddings & events! Just a few pieces in a space between the ceremony & reception or wanting an entire lounge-style reception;couches with throw pillows, side & cocktail tables, bars & more! Its a growing trend that adds style & character!

  6. Heather Hart reply

Hi Mindy! My name is Heather and I currently live in Delaware where I hope to one day open my own event planning business because it is a very large untapped market here.
One of my favorite trends from the past year has been the more frequent use of unconventional methods of transportation, like trolleys and vintage police cars. I’ve been seeing in wedding shows and magazines!
I would absolutely love to attend your event! To hear from the very best would truely be a dream come true!

  13. Rissa Merkley reply

I love love love brides and grooms who are doing a ‘first look’ photo session before their ceremony. I think it’s beautiful, romantic and takes some pressure off the walking-down-the-aisle moment.

  14. Deniesha Joseph reply

My Favorit trends for 2010-2011 are dessert buffets & shoot booths. I think this is best thing that has happen to wedding keepsakes!

  21. Avon Asawapornsnit reply

My favorite trend would have to be the animal print trend.

  22. Lucia Dinh reply

I have 2 favorite trends. 1) Connection. Couples are connecting more with their guests more than ever before. Weddings are more personable and authentic, thus becoming more memorable when the guests leave. using design elements that are pertaining to the couple’s love story. And everything is not so matchy matchy but naturally beautiful. and 2) Colors. Nude, pastel, soft colors. ugh I love nude! Classic and fresh. And of course the opposite more daring and not very common color combinations, like grey and yellow.

  23. Lauren Delamater reply

    Hi Mindy!

In 2011 I think we will notice brides steering away from structured, formal, (and somtimes stiff) sit down dinners. What I’ve been hearing from brides is a desire to create more of a celebratory/party atmosphere at their weddings. I think we’ll be seeing a lot of hors d’ oeuvres receptions integrating micro plates, saute stations, and other fun food presentations. And of course with brides becoming increasingly economically aware, we will see brides supporting local farmers markets, businesses, etc. when choosing vendors for their weddings, and truly paying homage to these small businesses that make up their communities. The event next weekend sounds like a blast and I will be there one way or another!

  24. Pearl reply

    Pumpkin martinis for fall weddings!

  25. Tara Cox reply

Hi Mindy. Thank you for the opportunity. My favorite trend is the after party atmosphere. I enjoy seeing a cognac bar with cigars or cappuccinos with pastries.

  26. Brandi Ford reply

    Mindy, awesome giveaway!

My favorite trend is the dressing of the cake/candy/dessert table. With companies like Raise the Cake creating these gorgeous stands and even bakers & planners using unique backdrops to highlight the sweets station, I love looking at a personalized cake/candy/dessert table that’s really been given some thought.

  27. Traci McMaster reply

Mindy, I am absolutely in love with tables completely lit by candle light to make the reception even more intimate and romantic.I also think that having a unique touch to the event will make people know it was the couples wedding and not just like on you seen on a blog or in a magazine. I think all brides should add a special touch to their day.

  28. Whitney Noel reply

absolutely LOVE anything “comfort” related…especially comfort foods :) In light of these tough economic times, hearty and soulful foods bring about a sense of heartwarming tradition and well-being.
