Hi friends! Can’t believe it’s already that time, but Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year is here! After 2017’s Greenery, they’ve gone in a completely different direction and named Ultra Violet the Color of the Year. This hue is bold, which I love, but will need to be incorporated into a wedding tastefully. But if done right, it can add a really charismatic edge to your event. Here are a few ideas:

  • Florals – Of course, Ultra Violet is the perfect shade to incorporate into your bridal bouquet and floral décor. A splash of purple flowers among creams and greens is always elegant, or you can go bold with monochromatic centerpieces composed of just that single color. Purple orchids, dahlias and lisianthus are all great Ultra Violet flower options!
  • Linens – A subtle touch of Ultra Violet in your linens will make a big impact. Think Ultra Violet napkins against a cream or white lace table covering – or even Ultra Violet fabric drapery across the ceiling to make things feel super grand.
  • Tablescape – Try bold purple chargers or wine glasses against metallic gold or crystal accents for a really regal look!
  • Stationery – Invitations, place cards, signage – you name it – would look great in this bold Ultra Violet. I could see an invitation with Ultra Violet engraving or thermography looking especially chic.

Will you be taking inspiration from Pantone’s Color of the Year for your wedding?

xox,

Mindy
