So I was just thinking about what would be fun to write…I always see the bride and groom as they leave their wedding. They are usually exhausted, sometimes they had too much to drink or so happy to throw off their shoes and collapse. But wouldn’t it be just icing on the cake if you, the bride actually puts on the gorgeous lingerie you bought or received just for the wedding night? Often we give up tradition for an extra drink. The wedding night is part of the whole experience. (Hey I know most of you all live together)..but I have so many Brides and Grooms that separate the week of the wedding just to have that romantic Honeymoon night together. Even if you can’t imagine staying up one more hour,

Back on the Book Tour

Hello friends! I’m back on the road with “The Wedding Book” the Big Book for your Big Day! First stop I went to Atlanta and had a great time at a darling store called Swoozies. They not only carry my Mindy Weiss products but the store is filled with the cutest holiday items and very unique monogramed gifts for any occasion. I love anything monogramed! Next off to Birmingham, Alabama where I was invited to a very chic Wedding Gown shop called Carriage House Weddings. Caroline and all her beautiful girls welcomed me to their city and hosted a lovely book signing thanks again! Floral Tieback

Here is another beautiful take of a floral tie or pullback….this is definately a finishing detail. Some budgets won’t allow for this detail . But I really think even a handful of beautiful ribbons would work wrappped around the fabric for an opening to another area, or just to see the gorgeous surroundings outside the tent. The one in the picture is a large bouquet, but just a couple of large flowers will work as well… more to come tomorrow…Mindy

Modern Bride Trendsetter Awards 2008

My good friends Ellen Black and Sol Lehr were awarded one of Modern Brides 25 Trendsetters Last week in New York for their amazing custom invitations! Trista Sutter (Remember the Pink Wedding?) and myself were there to present their award…Can you believe Ellen and I are not sisters… people think we look alike! Sol looks like he is in the Mafia but he is the sweetest guy ever! …Trista is beautiful and always has a smile! She and Ryan are so excited that their son Max will be turning one in August!

New York Stationery Show

Aisle that will make you Smile

Hi All…I’m a week late in sharing this beautiful aisle treatment with you. Remember the cute black and white welcome bag…this is the same wedding with the black and white theme. I love how Mark from Mark’s Garden added this damask trim to the white aisle runner. Details are what you and your guests will remember…so whether it is a trim of fabric or petals or feathers or rhinestones add a detail because this will be the best walk of your life ….

Impress your Out of Town Guest

Love the “Out Of Town Bag” we are using this weekend! For some that don’t know what this means…The out of town bag (doesn’t have to be a bag) is the container you can use for goodies that you welcome your guests with who have traveled to join the bride and groom. I’m always trying to find unique ways to hold the treats.

This cool bag not only matches the couple’s black and white color theme, but it is a recycled and reusable grocery bag and or just a great tote. This is one container that won’t be left in the hotel room. Easy to fold and pack and weighs hardly nothing! You can find awesome “Green” bags on line and I have seen really cute ones at places like Ikea and Cost Plus.

Tip: don’t buy a bag or container that is too big because it will take a lot of products to fill it and this will add money to your ever growing budget.

Seating Card Line-Up

I just love sharing things with you…thought i would post all the time but life gets in the way sooooo here are some things i was thinking about this weekend at a wedding I coordinated in Brentwood, California. I was placing the seating cards on the table and was wondering how would everyone know the easiest way to put the cards out without running out of room on the table, or having to re-do the rows 10 times so they end up even and in nice straight rows. Why such a big deal you ask? Well when i started in the business sometimes i would be standing at the seating card table putting the cards out and then re-doing them for an hour… So here are my tips for setting up your seating card table…

1.first count how many cards you have

2.figure out how many rows will fit on the table. You do this by placing a single row of your seating cards going across the length of your table. Take that number (for instance 15 went across the table) and divide the number of seating cards by 15 and then you will know how many cards go in each row.

3. Make sure you put the practice cards back in you pile alphabetical. Oh did I mention they must be alphabetical by last name?

4. Start with your first row and match all following rows to that first row. That way it will look all straight and even.

5. Most importantly YOU should not be doing this job! Assign someone very responsible to this task because YOU will be getting all beautiful for your hubby to be.
