To all you bacon lovers, did you know that December 30th is National Bacon Day?
I am sharing some creative ways to incorporate bacon into your wedding!
Serve bacon filled dishes at your post-wedding brunch. With bacon being a traditional breakfast food, brunch is a great way to add it to your food assortment. Quiche Lorraine, avocado toast with bacon, and an assorted bacon flight are all delicious options to choose from.
Incorporate bacon in your appetizers during cocktail hour. You can include bacon in lots of different hors d’oeuvres to serve your guests. Perhaps bacon and egg rollups, avocado and bacon spring rolls, bacon deviled eggs, or bacon, fig, and goat cheese crostinis. It will be hard to choose because so many items pair beautifully with bacon!
Don’t forget to add bacon to your charcuterie board. While bacon can be eaten with a variety of cheeses, including brie, cheddar, and gouda, it also pairs well with crackers and jam. This makes it a fantastic addition to a cheese board at cocktail hour.
Put a spin on classic cocktails by adding bacon. There are quite a few adult beverages that can be complimented by the salty crunch. For example, bacon Bloody Mary’s, candied bacon martinis, or a bacon old fashioned. You can even make bacon an optional garnish for any drink or create your own Bloody Mary bar and let guests design their ideal cocktail.
Include bacon in your dessert bar. Make room for the classic combination of salty and sweet on your dessert list. Maple bacon cupcakes, candied bacon, bacon-topped caramels, and bacon chocolate bark are all wonderful additions.
Finally, pass around late night bacon-laced donuts on the dance floor. After hours of celebration, your guests are sure to be hungry again. Treat them to this snack as they keep the party going into the night.
So, now that your mouths are watering and your ideas are flowing, I wish you a happy National Bacon Day! How are you going to incorporate bacon into your wedding festivities?
