Garden Party Wedding Ceremony Aisles

Whimsical, romantic, timeless, elegant. Just some of the words I could use to describe garden party weddings. They really are the dream setting for spring and summer weddings. Out of all the lovely details you can create with this backdrop, it’s the garden party wedding ceremony that always stands out for me. Not only is it an incredible moment of love and joy celebrated in the open air, but decorating the aisle always provides an opportunity to complement the garden’s beauty and take the romance factor to the next level. The key, of course, is not to compete with Mother Nature but that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative with your aisle style!

Here are some of my favorite recent garden party wedding ceremony aisles to inspire you!

The brides at this extraordinary wedding wanted it to look like an “enchanted magical garden” to celebrate their love of plants and wildflowers. The ceremony took place in a friend’s backyard overlooking a hillside to the ocean. We created a grassy, flower-lined aisle using abundant arrangements of different florals so it felt like guests were seated within a real garden. The key focal point was a towering statement floral arch where the couple exchanged heartfelt vows.

While I love color, there’s something so classic and elegant about choosing a green and white palette for a garden wedding. This couple did just that and we created a sophisticated setup for their outdoor ceremony. An aisle lined with white roses led to a lush archway made up of green and white flowers. Black chairs for the guests really let the white stand out. And it looked just as lovely at night! Your ceremony décor can be a lovely feature even when the sun goes down, so consider lighting it and making it a focal point!

I can’t wait to share more from this gorgeous recent wedding in Los Angeles. For the garden-style aisle, we focused more on greenery with minimal florals, giving it a really lovely botanic feel. And the chuppah! It was created out of oak trees – a true natural beauty! Decorating a garden party wedding ceremony doesn’t have to be all about flowers. In fact, more organic arrangements like these can be the best way to create that secret garden feel.

Color lovers – this one’s for you! The florals at this wedding were a beautiful rainbow of shades. Walking up the grassy, flower-lined aisle felt like stepping into a field of wildflowers. Instead of an arch, we used a semi-circle of flowers and greenery, which added to that magical garden feel.

This one isn’t technically an aisle but rather the entrance to a reception. However, I’ve included it because the entrance to the glass tent was meant to evoke the ceremony that had taken place a year before, which guests had been unable to attend thanks to the pandemic. So we dreamed up this enchanting garden-like walkway, which felt a little like walking into a greenhouse or botanic garden. The loveliest detail was the benches placed on either side. I had the last paragraph of the couple’s vows handpainted on them, and they now sit in the couple’s garden at home.

xoxo,
