Monochrome Elegance in Montecito: Wedding at the Rosewood Miramar Hotel

It’s no secret how much I absolutely love color, and enjoy bringing a bright and beautiful palette to life for my couples on their wedding day. But sometimes you just can’t beat the timelessly modern sophistication of a monochrome black and white theme. That’s exactly what we created for this elegant wedding at the Rosewood Miramar Hotel in Montecito. This is a venue that holds a special place in my heart. My team and I always enjoy creating magical celebrations here against a breathtaking oceanside setting! This wedding was bursting with love, flowers, and heartfelt moments, and was truly a tribute to the abundant love that the gorgeous couple share. From the abundant anemones, roses, and tulips to the bride’s breathtaking Galia Lahav gown, it really was a vision of black tie elegance come to life.

We were blessed with a sun-soaked Santa Barbara day – perfect for an outdoor ceremony!

The bride walked down an aisle lined with hundreds of flowers on the hotel’s Great Lawn, and exchanged vows with her groom under a beautiful bower of blooms.

Apart from the flowers, another gorgeous monochrome touch was the bridal party flowers and attire. The bride wore white and carried ‘Night Cap’ calla lilies, while her bridesmaids wore chic off-the-shoulder black dresses and carried similar arrangements in white. I loved the contrast!

The reception for this wedding at the Rosewood Miramar Hotel took place in the Chandelier Ballroom, named for the 12 Baccarat chandeliers that hang from its high ceiling.

For the decor, the bride had a stunning vision of tabletops covered with flowers. Anemones for days – it was just what she imagined!

The flowers and the candlelight were beautifully reflected by the mirrored tables. We used clear glassware and plates and classic white menus and napkins, which really let the florals take center stage.

custom black and white checkboard dance floor

We also decided on a custom dancefloor of glossy black and white checkerboard, which made a stunning centerpiece to the space. This monochrome pattern was reflected in some of the stationery, including the menu backs.

The couple chose a classic white cake, topped with anemones and surrounded by a sea of flowers. It tasted just as good as it looked! Once the cake was cut, it was party time! The bride changed into a showstopping sparkly jumpsuit and led the way to the dancefloor, where the couple and their guests celebrated all night long.
