So I may be a little tardy in sharing this party, but I had to show you one of my favorites from the year. It’s my granddaughter Goldie’s 3rd birthday party! I love a good party theme and I love a challenge so when I asked this little birthday girl what kind of party she wanted, I was so excited to get her input. Then she said “fruit!” Goldie wanted a 3rd birthday party theme of fruit. Okay, I said! Let the challenge begin. And boy, was it fun to plan.
We set the party in the backyard and filled the grass with tall and tiny colorful picnic benches. The kids and the parents all had the perfect place to sit.
I hung paper fruit from the umbrellas overhead and set stations below for kids to sit and listen to the children’s band play later in the day.
We served up sweet fresh fruit ice pops and actual fruit too – in a farmer’s market-style shopping area for the kids.
And what’s a 3rd birthday party without oodles of activities?!
Balloon animals and face painting are always a hit. This day was no exception.
The band rocked the house and kids loved every minute of it. And of course I loved every minute with my sweet Goldie. My son and daughter-in-law’s family is growing so quickly. Soon I’ll have more birthday parties to plan.
For dessert, cookies and rice krispie treats shaped like fruit were fan favorites. We hosted an entire dessert bar themed accordingly with berry cakes, fruit-themed cake pops and cookies to take away too.
The day was such a blast. I know Goldie loved her party but I don’t think anyone enjoyed it as much as me! She’s my favorite client yet 😉
I can’t wait for the next birthday I get to plan. Happy Birthday Goldie!!
