Essential Day-Of Items for the Bride and Bridesmaids

On the day of the wedding, there are some essential day-of items for the bride and bridesmaids to feel prepared for any circumstance. Here’s a list of items they may need to make sure everything goes smoothly:

Wedding Dress and Accessories

This includes the gown, veil, shoes, jewelry, and any other accessories. Don’t forget comfortable shoes for dancing, just in case!

If you have early access to the Bridal Suite, it might be a good idea to hang all of these clothing items up the day before. Additionally, if you’re planning on leaving directly from the wedding to the honeymoon, a packed vacation bag and/or comfortable travel clothes.

Emergency Kit

Hopefully you won’t need it, but an emergency kit is always a good idea. This might include safety pins, double-sided tape, stain remover, sewing kit, and any other items that might come in handy for wardrobe malfunctions. An extra cell phone charger is great to have on hand, as well!

Makeup Kit

Ask your make-up artist for ‘touch up’ supplies if they won’t be available throughout the day or make sure to bring your own. You’ll want makeup for touch-ups post-photos, including lipstick, powder, mascara, and any other essentials, especially if you tend to get teary or it’s a warm day.

Camera for Photos

While there will likely be a photographer, having a camera or phone to capture candid moments can be fun. It might also encourage even more photos to provide a polaroid or disposable camera.

Gifts

If the bride plans to give gifts to her bridesmaids, make sure they are prepared and ready to be handed out. On the same note, if the bride plans to give a gift to her groom, make sure it’s ready to go.

Hair Accessories and Personal Items

You can never have too many hairpins, hairbands, hairspray, or any other items needed to maintain the hairstyle. Additionally, you’ll want personal items like a small mirror, your favorite perfume or favorite lip gloss, gum, mints or any medications needed. These are definitely essential day-of items for the bride and bridesmaids!

Wedding Vows or Speech

If not memorized, having a copy of your vows or wedding speech on hand can provide reassurance.

Snacks and Water

It’s important to stay hydrated and nourished throughout the day. A lot of the time, brides and grooms spend more time talking and mingling than they do eating so it’s essential to have quick-and-easy snacks like a fruit/veggie plate, granola bars, bottles of water and the like.

Vibes

Sometimes, it is helpful to set a calm and relaxing tone in the Bridal Suite. You can do this by bringing a bluetooth speaker to play the bride’s favorite music or by lighting some candles to fill the room with good vibes. May I suggest some of my favorite scents?

Timeline and Contact Numbers

It’s helpful to have a copy of the wedding day timeline and contact information for key vendors or wedding party members. It’s also helpful to include the address of the venue(s) and directions in case a wayward relative or friend gets lost and reaches out for help.

Having these items prepared and on hand can help alleviate stress and ensure that both the bride and bridesmaids are ready for anything that may come their way on the wedding day. (Ps. Wondering if you can have a wedding without bridesmaids and groomsmen? Here’s what I think!)
