Must Haves Amenities for Guests at Your Winter Wedding

There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding held during the colder months. But while you’re wrapped up in the excitement of planning your winter wonderland celebration, don’t forget about the comfort and enjoyment of your guests. Here are the must have amenities for guests at your winter wedding:

Warm Blankets, Throws & Hand Warmers

If your wedding ceremony or reception is outdoors or in a chilly venue, providing cozy blankets and throws can keep guests comfortable and warm (especially for guests who might not have dressed warmly enough for the occasion). Hand warmers are especially appreciated for outdoor ceremonies or events held in colder climates. Support local companies by purchasing throws from local mills and weavers. (For example, weddings in the Pacific Northwest would look extra dapper wrapped in blankets and shawls from Pendleton Wool.)

Coat Check

Oftentimes, coming prepared for a winter wedding means bringing an extra heavy coat. A coat check area with attendants can ensure that guests’ outerwear stays safe and secure while they enjoy the festivities.

Hot Beverages & Warm Snacks

Set up a hot cocoa or mulled wine station where guests can warm up with a comforting drink. Don’t forget to offer alternatives like tea or coffee for non-alcoholic options. Consider serving appetizers or snacks that are comforting and warming, such as mini grilled cheese sandwiches, soup shooters, or sliders.

Valet Service or Transportation

In the same way, if parking is a distance from the venue, consider offering valet service or arranging transportation to and from the parking area to keep guests from having to brave the cold for too long. This is an extremely thoughtful gesture, especially for elderly guests who don’t navigate particularly well in wintery conditions.

Winter-Themed Favors

Consider giving out favors that are in line with the winter theme, such as personalized mittens, snowflake-shaped cookies, or miniature bottles of flavored spirits. Here’s one of my favorite ideas: cold weather can be drying, so providing small amenities like lip balm and hand lotion in the restrooms or at each table can be really appreciated by guests.

Umbrellas or Ponchos

Even though rain on your wedding day is supposed to indicate good luck, inclement weather is a staple of winter. In case of a few raindrops, having a supply of umbrellas or ponchos on hand can be a lifesaver for guests who need to move between venues or to their cars.

There are certainly some important Things to Remember Before you Book a Winter Wedding. From keeping them warm and cozy to ensuring they have everything they need to navigate the chilly weather, providing thoughtful amenities can elevate their experience and make your wedding truly unforgettable. These cozy touches ensure your guests feel welcomed, cherished, and ready to celebrate love in the midst of the frosty season.
