Ice Cream Social Birthday Party for Goldie

This summer my granddaughter, Goldie turned four! My granddaughters birthday parties are my absolute favorite events to plan. And Goldie is one guest of honor who knows what she likes. For her fourth birthday she wanted an ice cream social birthday party complete with butterflies and balloons. She likes to keep things interesting for me! So off we went to Ample Hills Creamery to celebrate with family and little friends.

The location is perfect for parties for little ones. They have a party room, patio spaces, great furniture for kids, and of course, all the ice cream you can eat. The venue didn’t need a lot of decorating on the inside so on the outside we decided to deck the walls with Wild Child Party & Supply balloon decor. Their larger than life installation certainly got the kids excited about what was to come inside.

When the boys and girls made it past the balloon grand entrance, they found a fanciful ice cream social with butterfly wings for all, ice cream cone centerpieces made of balloons, and sprinkles on the tables. We also set paper tea cups (clad with butterflies) and party supplies so each setting was set to celebrate.

Inside we filled the ceiling with more balloons and Wild Child made sure each corner was brimming with colorful statement pieces. Mark’s Garden set small details throughout and a pinata hung it’s butterfly wings on the deck. I entertained the kids with a face painting station, a slime making station and a friendly fairy to keep them company.

It’s become a tradition that my daughter-in-law bakes the birthday cake and this year she outdid herself! The two-tier butterfly adorned confetti cake burst with candy once it was cut into. This was a crowd pleasure for the kids and adults! Even though this was an ice cream social birthday party, this magical cake was a highlight.

For favors, we gifted the kids sunglasses, bubbles and small toys – each in their own personal swag bag. The kids had fun and loved every bite of the ice cream but ultimately I think I had the best time of all! Happy Birthday Goldie!
