In the Shop: My Favorite Vintage Finds

It’s no secret that I LOVE a good vintage find. I have gone to flea markets since I was a teen and they feel like the ultimate treasure hunt. You never know what you’ll unearth! Practically every Sunday, that’s where you’ll find me (Rose Bowl and Long Beach are favorites). And, while I often pick up props and fun details (as well as lots of inspiration) for weddings, I always have an eye out for beautiful vintage pieces for my personal collection. I love that everything vintage is a little piece of history and that by recycling it, I’m not contributing to clothing waste. But even though I fall in love with every piece I buy, it doesn’t seem fair to keep them all to myself! That’s why I created a vintage section in my Shop, where you can claim one of these treasures for yourself.

One thing I always look out for at the markets is vintage purses. The displays themselves are a treat for the eyes – a riot of color, with a mix of handbags, clutches, and purses to choose from. Many of them are the perfect finishing touch for a bride on her big day or at one of the pre-wedding events, or a special gift for a mother or bridesmaid. Here are a few of my favorite vintage purse finds, all available in the Mindy Weiss Shop. Remember, they’re one-of-a-kind, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Wedding Party Gifts

Vintage 1940s White Microbeaded Cylinder Bag ($75.00)

This 1940s bombshell is in really good vintage condition, with just a few darker beads on one side. It’s lined in black silk satin with a full mirror inside the lid. It makes such a cute wedding purse and would hold all those bridal essentials like lipstick, tissues, and mints. See more here.

He Loves Me! 1960s Beaded Purse ($62.50)

This gorgeous white beaded purse from the 1960s is in great condition. With its classic design, gold hardware, and white satin lining, it will hold its worth well after the wedding day, and pair just as well with jeans on date night as it does with your wedding gown or honeymoon wardrobe. See more here.

Something Old and Something Blue! ($175.00)

This is one of my best finds – I almost didn’t let it go! But it really is the perfect ‘something blue’ (and something old!) for a bride, with its white pearl beads and light and dark blue leaf beaded pattern. It’s in excellent vintage condition, with white satin lining and the original mirror in the pocket. The metal clasp and framework are particularly beautiful touches! See more here.

White Bridal Clutch ($32.50)

This 1955 white clutch is a classic through and through. At the front, you’ll find a detailed microbeaded pattern with simpler beading on the back. It’s in great condition – and at a great price too! The perfect little indulgence to complete your bridal look. See more here.

Be sure to check out my shop for more great finds – vintage and otherwise!
