A Private Estate Engagement Party in LA: Ally + James

Ally and James are two of the sweetest clients. Their love for one another is crystal clear (as you can see from their gorgeous engagement party photos!). They’ve been in love forever, so in love – I just can’t wait for their wedding day in 2019. Before they tie the knot, we recently helped this darling duo celebrate at their engagement party.

The private estate engagement party took place in Los Angeles at the home of the bride’s mom, Rochelle, who I have had the great pleasure of knowing for over thirty years! I even planned Ally’s Bat Mitzvah when she was a young girl. Time flies and I’m so happy to see her so incredibly happy with James today. Their amazing family is just getting bigger and better as time passes on.

To celebrate them, we included lots of “love” details for the pair.

I especially like the A+J heart on the family tree and a few touches of graffiti on the windows of the house.

We incorporated the couple’s wedding hashtag into the engagement party too so guests could share their love for Ally and James online.

The backyard was flanked with a custom dance floor, showcasing an illustration made of the couple’s engagement by famed artist Donald Robinson. Then we framed the DJ booth with bright yellow balloons to set the mood of total celebration!

Custom cocktail napkins and swizzle sticks were a hit as was the arrival of the Shake Shack. Ally and James live in New York and we brought this home to them here in LA.

Ally and James have so many wonderful people around them that the party, the speeches and each individual gathering was something very special.

Rochelle, the bride’s mom and I often tease about who is more clever. Hopefully these clever details did us justice but the jury is still out on the winner ;).

For dessert, we had a serious sweets station setup in the yellow and white color palette. I just love a cheerful theme, especially for something as fun as an engagement party!
