Ski Season Inspired Wedding Ideas

Looking for a theme for your winter wedding? If you and your partner love hitting the slopes, then why not bring that cozy-chic ski resort vibe to your big day? Even if you’re not planning a destination wedding to a snowy mountain town, there are still lots of cute, elegant ways to weave your passion for powder into the wedding theme. Just a few of these touches can really add personality and make your event extra fun and memorable for your guests. So here are 10 ski inspired wedding ideas I think are ‘snow’ amazing!

Set the scene with your stationery. There are lots of fun ways to design ski-themed wedding stationery. For example, a ski pass-style save the date or a ski-pole monogram.

Construct a ski arch. For the ceremony, use two skis crisscrossed to create a triangular arch as a feature. Add flowers to make it extra pretty.

Dress the groomsmen in ski lodge chic. Instead of blazers, style your groomsmen out in chunky Irish sweaters. They’ll be chic AND toasty warm!

Make mini ski boutonnieres. Mini model skis make an adorable addition to a floral or greenery boutonniere for a snow-loving groom.

Incorporate vintage ski gear. Visit flea markets (my fave!) to find vintage gear. For example, old wooden snowshoes and antique wooden skis.

Have a ski-themed table plan and table names. There are lots of ski inspired wedding ideas when it comes to table plans and names. For example, you could name your tables after your favorite ski resorts and have a trail map as your table plan. Custom piste signs on the tables would also be a fun touch. Or you could use pictures of the two of you on the slopes for your signage.

Go all-out on the photo booth. Provide your guests with plenty of fun ski-themed props, like retro 1980s ski gear, a ski lift or a snowy backdrop/green screen and let them have fun with it.

Provide a hot cocoa bar. Take your inspiration from an apres-ski favorite and create a hot cocoa bar where guests can customize (and spike) their drinking chocolate according to their preference.

Use skis as a guest book alternative. Instead of a guest book, have your guests sign a pair of skis, which you can display in your home later on.

Add winter detail to your cake. An all-white cake is classic, but you can give it a ski lodge twist with cable-knit sweater or mountain detailing.

Remember, as with any wedding theme, a little goes a long way! Don’t let the theme run away with you. Focus on the small touches when choosing ski inspired wedding ideas and you’ll create something creative and unique without going overboard (or off-piste)!

xoxo,
