If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I had the fun of participating in a very special dinner party – virtually! – thanks to LG kitchen appliances. Together with the rest of my ‘LG Homestyle Squad’, Alex Rodriguez, Billy Porter, 2 Chainz, and Baddie Winkle, I celebrated the fact that we can still share mealtimes with those we love, even in a time of social distancing. We had such a blast making the video – setting the perfect table, sharing cooking tips and recipes, and even passing a few ingredients through the camera lens. And of course, my LG QuadWash dishwasher made cleaning up a breeze!
With the holiday season coming up, it’s so important to share those good moments with friends and family while also staying safe. It may be different, but it’s not impossible, especially when you have the right kitchen appliances to help. Here are a few quick tips if you’re planning your own virtual dinner party.
Dine outdoors. Here in California, I’m lucky to be able to entertain al fresco almost all year round. If weather permits, set up your dinner in the backyard. Hang twinkle lights, set up a fire pit, and be sure to have a few cozy blankets on hand.
Opt for individual servings. This has been a big shift in wedding catering this year, but it works just as well on a smaller scale. Serve guests with individual platters or pre-plated dishes instead of having shared family-style dining.
Coordinate menus with your guests. Just because you’re far apart doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate virtually! Set up a Zoom call and collaborate on a shared menu ahead of time. You could also coordinate your drinks, decorations, and dress code so that it feels like one big party.
