The red carpet is back! We may not be ‘back to normal’ quite yet, but watching the 2021 Oscars last weekend made that day seem just a little bit closer. It was great to see event designers using smarts and creativity to produce a glamorous COVID-safe event. And, after a year of yoga pants, it was such fun to see the stars getting glammed up! This year, it was all about bright colors and glamorous gold dresses (and suits!). But the red carpet also provided plenty of inspiration for brides. And why not? After all, you should feel like a star when you take center stage at your wedding! So here are some of my favorite wedding-worthy dresses from the 2021 Oscars red carpet.

Maria Bakalova. In terms of bridal-ready glamour, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm actress Maria Bakalova stole the show. Her white Louis Vuitton gown featured an on-trend plunging V-neck and layered tulle princess skirt. She accessorized it with statement diamond earrings and a necklace, as well as a sparkly silver-tipped manicure, and a beautiful bold red lip. Great bridal styling inspiration all around!

Viola Davis. This multi-award-winning actress always looks incredible and the 2021 Oscars red carpet was no exception. She wore a floor-length Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress and also carried a Jimmy Choo clutch. The custom laser-cut silk illusion bodice gown would look just as good going down the aisle!

Tiara Thomas. Singer-songwriter Tiara Thomas was a winner on the red carpet as well as at the awards. Her Jovana Louis pantsuit featured flared trousers and an oversize jacket with feather trim. And, while only the boldest brides might take the plunge with a V-neckline as deep as this one, I love the way she accented it with an elegant diamond lariat.

Carey Mulligan. The British actress looked like a modern princess in this ultra-glam sequined ballgown by Valentino. Two-piece dresses have been a big trend in bridal over the last few years, but why not rock bold gold instead of traditional white? Carey’s simply chic updo is also a perfect style for a bride.

Diane Warren. Another stand-out look to inspire brides who don’t want to wear a skirt. Musician Diane Warren paired her Valentino pantsuit with a shimmering silver roll-neck top, as well as silver bangles.

Vanessa Kirby. The beautiful pale pink of actress Vanessa Kirby’s Gucci dress would be perfect for a wedding day. The midriff cut-out and train add drama, as does the red lip. It would also make a great bridal look for the after party!

Stacey Walker King. Producer Charles D. King and his wife, Stacey, made a glamorous pair on the 2021 Oscars red carpet. Stacy wore a beautiful nude A-line gown with tulle and flower detailing. It would be amazing on a bride and also paired perfectly with Charles’ brown jacket and bowtie and black pant combo. It’s a great twist on classic black for a groom!
