Fall 2021 Wedding Must-haves

The coziest season is upon us again. But did you know that fall is now the most popular time for weddings? It’s true – October is the most in-demand, followed by September. It also happens to be one of the best times of year to really embrace the season when planning your wedding as there are so many autumnal elements that lend themselves to a wonderful celebration. But what are the absolute must-haves? From food to florals, I’ve rounded up my can’t-miss-list for a fall 2021 wedding.

Seasonal Bar and Menu. One of the best parts about a fall wedding is incorporating all those delicious seasonal flavors into the menu. It’s all about comfort foods! Pies, donuts, candied apples, soups, and hearty mains. To keep things on-trend for your fall 2021 wedding, swap out a harvest grazing table for individual grazing platters with cheeses, meats, fruit, and nuts. Seasonal cocktails are also always a great idea. From warm apple cider to pumpkin spice martinis, there are so many ways to serve autumnal drinks. If you’re creating your own seasonal cocktails, then favors like caramel, cinnamon and cranberry are a good place to start.

Colorful Leaves. Fall is a time when Mother Nature really shows off. So be sure to incorporate all that glory in your photographs! Choose a venue with plenty of trees and be sure to scout out some of the best spots ahead of time with your photographer. The only difficult part will be choosing which photographs to frame! Of course, you can also incorporate colorful leaves into your florals or as part of your invitations. You could even have your flower girl throw leaves instead of petals or have guests shower you with leaves instead of confetti.

A Warm Coverup for the Bride and Bridesmaids. Fall can get a little nippy, especially during outdoor ceremonies or photo sessions. That’s why it’s a good idea to wear sleeves or include a coverup in your bridal (and bridesmaid) attire. Removable statement bridal boleros were all the rage at Bridal Fashion Week recently, from Vivienne Westwood’s frothy ruched puff sleeves to Ines Di Santo’s feathered topper. So you can be warm and stylish at the same time!

A Cozy Cocktail Lounge. Ensuring your guests’ comfort is a must, and a cozy breakaway seating area or lounge is a great way of doing it. For a fall 2021 wedding, choose rich materials such as velvet or faux fur and be sure to add a few floral touches as well as some blankets or wraps.

Abundant Seasonal Florals. Fall florals are an absolute must-have at any autumn wedding. From lush bouquets packed with seasonal blooms or a foliage-filled ceremony arch, to lavish floral displays, there are so many ways to make fall flowers and greenery a showpiece. You’re not limited to fresh flowers either. Fruit is always a good addition at harvest season, and dried flower installations are also very much en vogue.

So many ideas to ‘fall’ in love with!

Mindy
