8 Thoughtful Wedding Day Gift Ideas for Parents

Of all the people who help to make a wedding day happen, it’s parents who have often made the biggest contribution. Whether it’s financial, emotional or practical support (or all of the above!), your parents and soon-to-be-in-laws have been there from the beginning. A token of your gratitude is sure to be appreciated. Plus, a wedding day gift is a great opportunity to show them how important they are to you and that even as you start this new chapter, your love for them will never change. (Sometimes we moms and dads need this reminder!) The good news is that there aren’t really any set rules, so you can be creative and personal.

Here are some great wedding day gift ideas for parents to start you off!

Photobook. Photographic gifts are something to treasure, whether it’s a framed picture of you together or a canvas print or calendar. Why not create a custom photobook filled with family photographs for them to page through and enjoy for years to come?

Frame their wedding picture. Another photographic gift they’re sure to love is a picture from their wedding in a beautiful frame. It’s a lovely way to honor how their marriage has influenced your own (and chances are, they are do for an updated keepsake).

Embroidered tokens. Before you head for the ceremony, give them each something special with a sentimental message. A hand embroidered handkerchief is a great idea for moms and dads. You could also have a custom patch sewn into your father’s tie.

Event tickets. Whether it’s opera, theater or sports, give them a pair of tickets to an event they’ll love and can enjoy after the wedding.

Weekend break. If you want to spend a bit more, then why not book a mini getaway? Wedding planning is exhausting for more than just the bride and groom, so if they’ve been very involved, they could probably enjoy some R&R too!

Of the month club. From wine to cheese to fresh floral bouquets, you can get a subscription gift of just about anything these days! What’s great about this gift is that it keeps on making them feel special for months after the wedding.

Day-of accessories. One of the easiest options is to gift your parents with accessories they can wear on your wedding day. For example, earrings or a pretty bracelet for mom, and cufflinks for dad. You could even engrave them for an extra personal touch.

Family tree collage. A custom family tree collage print is a special way to pay tribute to your family history as you merge it with those of your spouse.

Remember, you don’t need to spend a small fortune to give a special gift and there’s no right or wrong way to say thank you. Sometimes a heartfelt handwritten letter is the best gift of all. The most important thing is that whatever you choose, you give it with love!

xoxo,
