Valentine’s Day with Your Fiancé: Date Ideas for Engaged Couples

Celebrating Valentine’s Day with your fiancé can be a special and memorable occasion. Here are some ideas to help you plan a romantic and enjoyable day together:

Romantic Dinner at Home

Life is busy and full of things that keep us away from home. Sometimes, just spending time alone together can be the most romantic thing. Cook a special dinner together at home or order from your favorite restaurant. Set a romantic ambiance with candles, soft music, and perhaps some flowers. Watch a movie, cuddle on the couch, enjoy your alone time.

Weekend Getaway

Speaking of busy life,  getting ‘away from it all’ can be just as rejuvenating to a relationship as it can be to each of you personally! Luxury hotels have lots of fun and unique options, including couple’s massages. Some even have natural hot springs! The options are endless. Choose a place that you will both enjoy, whether it’s a cozy bed and breakfast or a luxury hotel.

Visit Your Venues

Do some research and find out if your wedding venue(s) are available, in any capacity. Can you have dinner at the restaurant where you’re planning your rehearsal dinner? Does your wedding venue have rooms to stay in and are any available in February? Spending time together, daydreaming about your imminent big day, is a lovely way to spend the holiday.

Try New Things Together

Book a cooking class and bond over your combined confusion over what ‘fold in the cheese’ means. Go wine tasting at a vineyard you’ve never been to before or visit a distillery. If you enjoy the outdoors, try a new hiking path and bring a picnic. Or, check if there are any special events, concerts, or shows happening on Valentine’s Day. Maybe there’s an artist you’re significant other loved when they were growing up – surprise them with tickets and enjoy watching their adolescent giddiness.

Get Sentimental

Surprise your sweetheart with printed photos and mementos of the relationship you’ve built together. Sit down and reminisce as you compile a scrapbook, leaving blank pages for all the years you have to come! It’s a fun and nostalgic way to celebrate your journey as a couple. Or, really celebrate the journey by going on one! Plan a scavenger hunt around town with clues that lead to significant places in your relationship. Wrap it all up in the evening at a quiet spot, away from city lights, and star gaze together.

Write Love Letters

It can be incredibly difficult to find the time to sit down, focus your mind, and write a heartfelt love letter – but in doing so, you’re expressing love with your genuine effort. You can exchange your letters and read them out loud, save them to read on your honeymoon, or even keep them sealed until your one-year anniversary. No matter when you decide to share them, a love letter is something you can both keep forever and ever, reading whenever you need a reminder of how much love you both share.

No matter how you find yourself celebrating Valentine’s Day with your fiancé this year, the most important thing is to spend quality time together and celebrate your love for each other. If you need some gift ideas, I’ve got some nifty notes on Valentine’s Day Gifts for the Newly Engaged.

xoxo,
